My hometown is Ulysses, Nebraska. My mother still lives in the house I and my seven siblings were raised. I graduated from Aquinas High School in 1978. My undergraduate degree in Education is from UN-Lincoln. My master’s program in Administration and Supervision was completed in 1987 from UN-Kearney. I have endorsements in K – 12 Principal, Evaluation and Assessment, and a Superintendent’s Certificate.
My professional career started in McCook St. Patrick’s, teaching middle school math and science. I completed a School Administration Internship at Kearney Middle School in 1987. I returned to the classroom for two years, teaching science at St. John in Lincoln. My school administration career started at Cheney, Nebraska, teaching physical education and serving as the building principal for the Class I district. In 2006, I became the assistant principal of Norris Middle School, and the building principal in 2007 until 2018.
I have two sons, Jameson (27) and Jared (23) Rupert, both live in Lincoln. Jameson works for Olsson Associates as a Non-Destructive Tester and will be married to Chelsea Fritz in October of 2019. Jared will graduate from UN-Lincoln in December 2019 with Political Science and History Degrees.
My husband, Dan Leininger, is a life-long resident of York. We were married in 2014 and reside on the ‘home place’ of Dan’s parents, Jerome and Elaine Leininger.
I am honored to be serving as the principal of St. Joseph School. In addition, I am able to get back into the classroom and teach 5th grade math. This position checks all the boxes, leading and teaching in a Catholic School. I am blessed!
